"Explore the World of Microbiology: Insights, Research, and Discoveries"

At the Microbiology Society we work with our members to advance the understanding and impact of microbiology by connecting and empowering communities worldwide.

Who We are

We are a membership charity and a not-for-profit publisher. Our members are scientists interested in microbes, their effects and their practical uses. We support and invest in the microbiology community for the benefit of everyone.

Our principal goal is to amplify our members’ voices, wherever they are in the world.

Why Microbiology Matters

Microbiology answers big questions by giving us knowledge of very small things. Our members are involved in addressing challenges that vary from urgent problems demanding immediate solutions, such as new and emerging diseases, through to long-term issues, like antimicrobial resistance and environmental sustainability.

Our ability to bring microbiologists together for knowledge exchange and to forge new collaborations is essential to the Society’s role – to help unlock and harness the unique breadth and depth of our members knowledge about the discipline of microbiology.

Publishing for the Community

As a Society publisher, we are not for profit and everything we offer our community happens thanks to the revenue generated
by publishing.
